1901 Highly important Arts and Crafts Sterling Silver Trophy designed by C.R. Ashbee, awarded to Leon Serpollet as the first prize at the Whitmonday Bexhill Speed Trials race organised by the Automobile Club (later Royal Automobile Club) in 1902.
The hand beaten fluted base is attractively set with twelve ruby cabochons, with a delicate and flowing twist and ball decoration to the long stem which supports the lidded trophy which is of ovoid form. Simple flowing decoration is also applied to the surface . The cover has a dramatic wide red enamel spread decoration surmounted by and also beautifully set with a finial holding a single dark ruby cabochon nestling within the laurel leaves of victory.

"The Kid" car mascot by Jean Verschneider
This is an amazing item from the golden age of silent film and the golden age of automobilia. "The Kid" by Jean Verschneider is an exceptional car mascot made in 1925. The Kid is Jackie Coogan in his most successful film with Charlie Chaplin. It was fashioned as Jackie Coogan's personal mascot and made in an extremely limited number, in three different finishes and two sizes. This is the larger 6 1/4 inch size, with the rarest finish., and the deluxe ivory face. It is in its original gilded bronze. The face is made of ivory. The base is signed Jean Verschneider and the number 122 on the base.
It is in excellent totally correct condition. Jean Verschneider (1872-1943) is a well known French artist/bronze sculptor.
