Manufacturer:  Alvis 1920-1967.  Early Brass Hare.

On a 1930s-50s radiator cap.  Early Brass Hare, produced from 1920 to 1932.  Made in nickel plated brass, the later issues were chrome plated.

This is one of the very first Alvis Hares and is modelled with its paws down.  They were used on the 12/40, 12/50 and 12/60 models.  Some later ones are marked AEL near the left paw.

AEL stands for Augustine & Emile Lejeune.  They set up in business in London after moving from France in 1904.
