Stylized Sculptures:  Aviator.

Aviator, produced from 1925 to 1930.  Aluminum or bronze.  This one is marked PARS 1929.  It depicts the French pioneer aviator Dieudonné Coste who was the first person to make a non-stop flight from Paris to New York.  It took Coste and his flying companion Maurice Bellonte 37 hours, 18 minutes, to complete their 4100 mile journey on the 1st and 2nd of September 1930.  Dieudonné Coste was born on the 2nd November 1892 in Gascony, France and died in 1973.
