This detailed badge measures 2.5" x 4.25" and is gold plated with five colours of enamel.  It was issued for the Südbayerische Heimat-Fahrt of the ADAC in Gau Südbayern (South Bavarian ADAC Homeland Rally) in the Olympic year of 1972.  ADAC is the abbreviation of Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobile-Club - or the United German Auto Club.

The badge depicts the Olympic flame, the Olympic grounds and the profile of Munich in front of the Alps.  Produced by the master die-makers of the company Deschler & Sohn, one of the principal manufacturers of orders, badges and military medals like the Iron Cross in Nazi Germany during the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler.
