Boyce - Universal Model.

The body is nickel plated die-cast zinc and is 2-7/8" in diameter.  The construction is different from other Boyce units, the glass being held in with the four screws around the rim, not with a separate ring.  The hex-head screw at the top facilitates thermometer replacement, and there is a slot-head screw in the bottom stem that holds the thermometer in position.

The base of the glass tube is just visible through a hole in the metal stem, you can see this in the photograph on the right.  I am not positive about this being a Boyce motometer, since it is only the disk that says Boyce.  This disk could have been added at some point, so if any of the visitors to the site can offer further information about this unit it would be appreciated.
