|British Racing Motors Association. This association was formed to support the famous BRM racing team of the 1950s and into the 1970s. The badge was appointed to small time public supporters of the team in the 1950's. To become a life member of the Association cost around £60 for this privilege, which was quite a lot of money in those days, however they also received a lapel badge of the same design. The famous BRM marque, was founded by the Midlands industrialist Alfred Owen of the Rubery Owen bearings manufacturing business. This badge is also referred to as the Brabham Racing Mechanics Association badge that was formed in 1989.
