Glass Mascots

R. Lalique:  Coq Nain (Small Cock).

Coq nain - or Small Cock - by R. Lalique.  This piece shows Lalique's very rare fume coloured glass, with a deep red centre.  Introduced on the 3rd of August 1926.  The piece is marked FRANCE also the stock-number 1135 and moulded R LALIQUE signature around the base.

This is a correct vehicle mascot and not the paperweight variety.  It is all signed and proper.  This one has however undergone some professional restoration work to the tail feathers at some point during its life, worth making a note of if you are considering collecting glass.
