Coronation, George VI.

Possibly one of the worlds rarest badges.  It had a very short run from the 11th of December 1936 to May 1937, when George VI accedes to the throne after the abdication of his brother Edward VIII.  He was crowned King of England at Westminster Abbey on the 12th of May 1937.

Manufactured by Smith, in the form of an English Rose with red, white and blue glass enamel petals and a chrome surround.  The reverse has three fingers that are threaded, these would have held either flags or banners.  You purchased these items separately from the badge.
