Dr. Diafoirus, produced from 1920 to 1925. Made in bronze and silver plated. He is complete with a rather unpleasant looking enema pump!
Dr. Diafoirus is a character from The Hypochondriac - a play written by Moliere. He was popular enough in the 1920's for the French to mould this mascot after him. The piece is marked with DIGNUS INTRATE. |
