Motoring Badges

N.R.M.A - Honour Badge.

A Rare N.R.M.A. Honour badge.  These badges were issued occasionally from the mid 1930's, this particular badge is numbered 35.

The badges were special awards to N.R.M.A. members who had made significant contributions to the cause of motoring, very often in the areas of road safety.

They are similar to a regular N.R.M.A badge, except that the tyre and wings motif is gold plated or lacquered.  Additionally, there is a blue enamel section at the base containing the slogan HONOUR BADGE.  Below the slogan is a red/gold enamel motif depicting a tied bundle of sticks, this denotes unity.  The laurel wreath was made from brass and attached separately, it was painted black and green.
