A 1959 Italia Rally badge. Originally painted in gold with black painted lettering. Also, white and pink painted flowers.
As Merano or Meran, depending on whether you speak Italian or Austro-German, is in the middle of a disputed area between Italy and Austria - called the Tirol, the badge text is done in both languages!
A makers mark is embossed on the front, in the lower right-hand corner. It reads BERTONI MILANO. Height is 3.1/4" and width (widest point) is 2.3/4". |
