Michelin Man (Bebendum), produced in the 1920's. This version has the appearance of a boxer.
The maker was Generes Co. of Paris, France. They were a company who specialised in making Metallo-Bronze pieces. Metallo-Bronze was a very fragile alloy and did not stand the test of time too well. The Metallo-Bronze was first plated with copper and then nickel or silver plated. It is very rare to find one in perfect condition. |
