|A Moore Motor Semaphore temperature meter. This device was made by the Semaphoric Indicator Co., Chicago, Illinois. If a green disk showed, the engine was cool. If a red disk showed, the engine was hot. It shows a partial disk in each window for any temperatures in between. |
It is mounted on a Thomson flip-top, bow tie shaped cap. The cap was made by the S. H. Thomson Mfg. Co. of Dayton, Ohio. The top of the triangle had three small holes for flags on special occasions. The meter and cap are nickel plated and are from the early 1920's.
