This 3" in diameter Boyce has a Peerless dial insert. A Peerless eagle attachment surrounds the motometer. The attachment mounts under the motometer base, and is made from nickel plated pewter. The cap is a flip-top type and made from nickel plated brass.
Attached surrounds, as in this example, were used by manufacturers to make their vehicles a little more distinguishable from those that had just a cap or motometer. It bridges the period between the plain radiator cap, the cap mounted motometer and the cap mounted mascot. |
