One of the oldest and rarest RAC badges. The very first RAC badges produced were in this style, made between 1907 and 1911. This example is around 1909.
It is a large, imposing badge - over 7" tall. Although not strictly a life member's badge, this is what they became known as. There is no such thing as a true life member's badge.
It is a hollow cast brass construction. This example has two extra holes drilled in its base, and has been shortened at sometime. |
