Accessory Mascots

Aeroplanes:  French Question Mark.

This mascot is silver over bronze and is marked Paris Depose.  Known in France by the name of Point d' interrogation, this translated means Question Mark, this was the name of the red French Breguet aeroplane flown by the French aviator Dieudonné Coste who was the first person to make a nonstop flight from Paris to New York.  It took Coste and his flying companion Maurice Bellonte 37 hours, 18 minutes, to complete their 4100 mile journey on the 1st and 2nd of September 1930.  Dieudonné Coste was born on the 2nd November 1892 in Gascony, France and died in 1973.  His companion Maurice Bellonte was born 1896 and died 1984.
