|Late 1920s Poisson D'or, "Gold Fish" This tinted glass mascot was sold as a direct rival to the French Perch of R Lalique. It was produced by the Persons Majestic Company, Worcester Massachusetts and sold in 1932 for $28 dollars through the retail chain of Nil Mellor 119 West 57th Street New York. As with all pre-war glass mascots it is now valued at considerably more than that, and has now become a real collectors item. It was offered for sale with or without an illuminated base as shown, the cost of the base was $30 dollars extra. |
