Accessory Mascots

Animals - Birds:  1930s Rubber Eagle.

Late 1930s.  This unusual rubber mascot has some similarity to the eagle head mascots fitted to the late 1920s Oakland, Chevrolet, Chandler and Peerless.  It also has some resemblance to the external figures of eagle's heads that adorn the corners of the old Chrysler building in New York.  This type of mascot was possibly fitted on exported models to cut down on metal that could be used towards the war effort, or to comply with the strict safety issues that being introduced in Europe.  3 inches high by 6 inches long.
