Accessory Mascots

Courtesy The Autocar October 16th 1931:  Red-Ashay.

Just three of more than 30 designs of these popular British glass car mascots from the Red-Ashay range that were sold through Finnigans Ltd 17-21 Bond Street London W and H.G.Asher Ltd Holborn Viaduct London EC1 also of Glasgow and Manchester.  It is said the Red-Ashay mascots were more or less copies of the more expensive and sought after range of car mascots by René Lalique, however it is worth noting two of the three shown are of a unique designs and not in any way copies, I have to say however that Ecstasy has some very strong similarities to the super René Lalique Chrysis first Introduced: 21 March 1931.  Worth remembering Red-Ashay also had their own unique metal to glass mounts, some with a propeller and coloured filter arrangement.
